Wordless Wednesday: Photo Challenge
I thought this photo challenge by The Paper Mama sounded like fun, so I thought I would enter! Here is a picture of C when he was about 17 months. The theme of the week is eyes.

The Bookshelf
I was looking around for some new books to get the boys, I'm just tired of the usual, and nothing I have looks interesting. I was thinking about different types of books I could start reading with C now that he's oder and really starting to get into books and asking questions. The idea of chapter books came to mind. I think he's still a little young, but wanted to see what others thought, so of course, I googled!
I came across this site DaddyRead. It has some great information about reading to children, starting with the itty-bitties, and continuing to lower elementary kids. I found some great book ideas, and am excited to hit the bookstore to get some! I also got some great gift ideas new babies!

Fun at the Park
The other weekend Hubby and I had a fun day all planned out...and then we woke up to the threat of rain. So, we decided to make it a more local fun day out. We went out to lunch at Red Robin and headed for our favorite playground. We didn't realize it until we were there, but with how busy we've been this summer, this was N's first trip to this park! Needless to say, both boys had a blast!

Surprise gift!
The first part of my training has been over for 1 week! To celebrate my training being over, and my official move from the office to the classroom...Hubby got me a gift! It was a surprise gift, with more surprises than he intended!
Being in the office, I was able to read a few blogs, and tweet a little during the down times. However, in the classroom, especially with the under 3 crowd...no down time! And even if there was, not appropriate to be on the phone tweeting while in the classroom. So...Hubby got me this to help with my tweeting addiction!
Hahaha! I love it! There was a little issue with the delivery, but it got here! (It was showing delivered, but it wasn't. Hubby called and found out that this was an issue with a couple other deliveries in the area...not sure what happened, but we do know that the manager was in the area trying to fix the issues!) My first paper tweet you ask?

Going to the Movies
We had another fun milestone with C last week. Since I've so so busy with my Montessori Infant/Toddler training, and we've had a lot of personal changes, Hubby and I thought we should do something special with C. So....we took him to the movies! He LOVED it! We talked to him ahead of time about going to the "movie house" and watching the "big TV" that would be very loud.
The new experience started with purchasing tickets...
Then, we had to find out seats! The theater has these neat little boosters that help hold the seat down and raises them up so they can see better. (Not sure why he's making funny faces...I think he was deeply engrossed in the commercials and was annoyed we were bothering him!)
No movie experience is complete without snacks!

We saw Cars 2, and C loved it! He did a great job. He sat very nicely for the first hour or so, and then realized there was a bathroom nearby (only 5 trips during the 2 hours!). It was also close to naptime, so around the hour mark, he started to look sleepy and (I think) was doing what he could to stay awake (standing in front of his seat...running to the bathroom...climbing in and out of my lap...)
We think he really enjoyed the whole movie experience, because every time we see something Cars 2, he gets so excited! And he's telling people all about it when they ask. I think it was a wonderful experience, and I can't wait until we take him to the next movie :)
