6 months old!
My little N is 6 months old!
I cannot believe it's been 6 months. He has grown so much in the last month alone. He started tripod sitting, rolling from front to back with regularity, eating a little food (he LOVES bananas!) and he's getting such a great personality all of his own. Nothing cracks him up like his big brother. And nothing beats the smiles and giggles Hubby and I get when we walk through a door. I am so excited to see how much he changes in the next month, I see great fun in our future!

Names, Names, Names
Even though I am not yet over my last name obsession, there are a few other names we are thinking of. Here's a few...
Colby: this was actually a favorite when I was pregnant with C, but once we found out we were having a boy, we didn't really like it any more. However, we've started really liking it again. The main problem? We don't want another C name. We have C, and our dog's name is Copper...plus, how confusing would the blog posts get :)
Origin: English
Meaning: Coal Town
Rating on babycenter: 162
Marshall: this is a name that Hubby suggested one day and we both really like it. No problems with the name, just not ready to say "It's the one."
Origin: French
Meaning: keeper of the horses
Rating on babycenter: 353
Dean: another name Hubby suggested, and I really like, but do we like it enough for our child?
Origin: Latin
Meaning: Presiding official
Rating on babycenter: 273
Vincent: I suggested this name because I really like the nickname Vince. I love Vince, but don't really think it's substantial enough for a first name. But we both really like the name.
Origin: Latin
Meaning: Conquorer, Victor
Rating on babycenter: 126
Travis: this is another name that was suggested when I was pregnant with C. We both like the name, but haven't really talked about it much, it just always get brought up when people ask what names we are thinking about.
Origin: Latin
Meaning: from the road crossing
Rating on babycenter: 151
There are more, but that's enough for now. Any thoughts? Suggestions?
Name information can be different according to different sources, I went with babycenter, because well, I just did :)

Baby Name
Names are being thrown around the house like crazy these days. Hubby and I will, in the middle of a conversation, randomly say a name, then we stop our other conversation and contemplate that name. The other day a name was thrown out, I can't get it out of my mind! I don't know of that means it's "the one" or if I am just trying to decide if it would be appropriate to use for a baby.
The name? Dexter. I really really like this name. I like the nickname Dex, also. I looked it up and it is of English origin and means "dryer of clothes." It hasn't been in the top 100 since the 70's, but did rank 545 in 2009, so it's still hanging in there.
A pretty harmless name all in all. However, Dexter is also the name of the serial killer in the Showtime series Dexter. Hubby and I love this show, who doesn't like a lovable serial killer who only kills those who have escaped the law somehow?
What do you think? What I wouldn't want to happen is people to find out Dexter's name and say "like the show on Showtime" or "oh, wasn't that the name of the serial killer from Showtime?"
